Long Hole Cliff

Long Hole Cliff is named after a small cave within the reserve and forms part of the South Gower Coast SSSI. It consists of a variety of habitats including sea cliff, limestone grassland, heath and caves. In the past, parts of the cliffs were quarried for limestone. This was burned in a limekiln, the ruin of which is still visible within the reserve, and provided lime for local fields.
